How is Maxi Gomez going?

I know its early but could this be a bullet we inadvertently managed to dodge? Dont these things when it comes to West Ham usually go athe other way...........
Gomez has barely kicked a ball for struggling Valencia, is already being questioned by the club’s fans and has now seen the manager who pushed the boat out to sign him sacked.

I’m not sure we actually made an official bid for Gomez to be honest. As others have mentioned it seems like it was a smoke screen to draw attention from our pursuit of Haller.

What I don't understand is when these players go to other clubs overseas for less than half the money we ask for them, like that player from Sporting Lisbon last season.
that was due to all the rtrouble at Sporting where players tried to walk for nothing

I said before this window even good transfer people are going to get some wrong. Whether this has seemed to work out by luck or skill, I don't know.
Very much early days.
But the Frankfurt manager (?) sure sounded sorry for himself in terms of transfers after their loss to Arsenal. His loss, our and other clubs gain. Nice to be on other side, at least at this point.

Our manager was also keen on Haller, I'd say his judgement isn't too bad..
Haller has been superb for us.
His whoscored rating (whatever the fuck that is) is the highest of any summer signing in the top 5 leagues so I read.

It is far too early of course on both Haller and Gomez.
Haller has got off to a good start, Gomez has hardly featured, but agree with Manuel if Gomez turns out to be a bit average at Valencia it does put a a bit of a question mark on our manger being so keen on him? suppose you cant pick them all but the amount of money we were preppared to throw at him!!!

Not really sure how anyone has come to any conclusion about Gomez, from what I can make out hasn't played a full game yet?
On that evidence impossible to judge.

It's a bit early for the smugness yet, and one would also have to ask why our great manager was willing to pay so much dough for him if that's the case??
I'm also not that blown away by Haller, done pretty well, yes, but let's see how he goes in the next few games. He seems a bit 'stiff' to me and doesn't seem to venture too far from the same area of the park, but maybe he's been told not to.

And there were people on here telling me we were mugs not to pay £45m for him. Still can't believe it to be honest but there you go. He may well go on and become a Valencia great. £25m player all day long.

Tbh, I had never heard of any of them until the summer transfer window.
It's impossible to say he is shit or not, but we can't complain about our strikers impact.

Took his goal well against Barca but did fuck all else when he came on.
Far to early to say if he was a bullet dodged, but Haller looks the better player on the little i have seen of Gomez.
